@ Brookside . . . Week of November 11

We will be singing an anthem "A Simple Song of Thanks" with the Adult Choir this Sunday, November 18. Your call time is 8:45 am. Please be on time!

The Brook Singer’s Choir (for K-12th graders) will rehearse on Sunday mornings after Children’s Church until 11:15 am on the following Sundays ONLY:
December 2 & 9

The Brook Singers will participate in worship on:
November 18, December 2, December 16 (Call time for the choir is 8:45. Please be on time!) . If you have any questions, please call Amy Southerland at 862-686-2573.

If you'd like to work in the kitchen helping to prepare the meal you need to become a "Black Shirt", which involves training to understand food safety- plus you'll get a spiffy black t-shirt to signify your kitchen status. Black Shirts arrive before the servers to bring groceries supplied by BCC and to help prepare the day's lunch. If you'd like to become a Black Shirt, the next training will be this Sunday November 18 from 1:00 - 2:00pm.  Please text Judy Schryver at 973-727-1480 if you'd like to join the elite rank of Black Shirt!

We will host an Open House at 4 pm on Sunday to show our church community the newly upgraded Anderson Wing and to invite the community in so they can see our space (which is now available for users of all kinds.)  Refreshments will be served.

Our Best Yet (Banner).png

As we enter this year’s season of stewardship, we are reminded that stewardship is an important spiritual practice. Our mantra for this season is discover, imagine, become: “Discover who we are. Imagine who we can be. Become our best selves together.” At times, it may be challenging. It will take patience and care. If we begin with faith—not only faith in God but faith that God has faith in us—then we can believe that all of the pieces will fit somehow. When each of us work to discover how our time, talents, and treasure fit into the wider picture of who God is calling us to become, Brookside Community Church can be our best yet!

Everyone in our community should receive a stewardship letter in the mail, along with a brochure and a pledge card. The stewardship brochure and pledge cards will also be provided in the pews during our Sunday services.

You can help Brookside Community Church achieve our goal of becoming our best yet. Your support is crucial to our efforts to become who God is calling us to be. Please review the pledging and budget information provided in the brochure to help guide you.

Please complete and return your pledges by our Celebration Sunday this Sunday, November 18, 2018.

Feel free to send your completed pledge card in the mail, return it to the office, or bring it with you to service on Sunday.

Our Stewardship campaign for 2019 is well underway with a total of $134,460 being received as of Wednesday, November 14. If you have already submitted your pledge card, many thanks. If not, please either mail it to us, deliver it to the church office, or drop it in the wooden box (located in the narthex of the church sanctuary) by this Sunday, November 18. We thank you for your support!

DECEMBER 2 @ 9:30 AM

We will decorate the sanctuary during our morning worship on the first Sunday in Advent, December 2, with the Hanging of the Greens Service. This will be a special Sunday where the Adult Choir and the Brook Singers lead the congregation in song as we prepare for the birth of Jesus.  More info to follow, but mark this date on your calendar as a Sunday you don’t want to miss!
