PEACE IS POSSIBLE: A FOUR-PART CONVERSATION ON JUST PEACE (Sundays in May)

Join us during the service each Sunday in May as we engage in a sacred conversation about the UCC's vision to be a Just Peace Church. The Just Peace Church vision is a hallmark of the United Church of Christ’s theological identity. Grounded in UCC polity and covenantal theology, the Just Peace vision focuses attention on alleviating systemic injustice of all types using non-violence. It calls us to offer the message, grounded in the hope of reconciliation in Jesus, that “Peace is possible.” This four-part conversation will be aimed at helping Brookside Church to engage in honest conversations about our identity as a UCC congregation and discover what becoming a“justice-doing, peace-seeking church” might mean for us.

KEEPING THE SABBATH HOLY

The topic for the Sunday school lesson for the next several weeks revolves around the Sabbath and why we should “keep it holy”.

We will celebrate the Earth on May 6 with our guest speaker, Kaki Pierson. She will discuss the topic “How to be a Bird Watcher”. Please have your children bring boots and binoculars. Kaki will take us on a guided hike, weather permitting.
