ATTN: Special Congregational Meeting—This Sunday, Oct 7th

Following our Communion Service on Sunday, October 7th, Brookside Church will kick off our Fall 2018 Stewardship Drive with a special congregational meeting. Pastor Lois and Amy will have activities for the children.

During this short meeting, we will have a presentation that will highlight the things we most value about our congregation and what resources are needed for us to be at our very best together. Based on a new stewardship strategy that emphasizes transparency and broader participation, this meeting will be led by our Interim Minister, Rev. Michael Howard, and our Moderator, Paul Breda.

It will not only be very informative but exciting and energizing, challenging us to imagine all the things our congregation can become together.

Mark your calendars and spread the word: Sunday, October 7th, following our Communion Sunday service. All are invited to attend.

COMMUNITY SOUP KITCHEN NEWS

Our next opportunity for BCC to serve at the Community Soup Kitchen in Morristown is Saturday, November 17th.  Look for the Sign Up Genius to volunteer as a server (11:15am-1:00pm) or Black Shirt (9:30am-1:00pm), or simply text Judy Schryver at 973-727-1480. If you'd like to work in the kitchen helping to prepare the meal you need to become a "Black Shirt", which involves training to understand food safety- plus you'll get a spiffy black t-shirt to signify your kitchen status. Black Shirts arrive before the servers to bring groceries supplied by BCC and to help prepare the day's lunch. If you'd like to become a Black Shirt, the next training will be Sunday November 18th from 1:00 - 2:00pm.  Please text Judy Schryver at 973-727-1480 if you'd like to join the elite rank of Black Shirt!

SAVE THE DATE: BCC OPEN HOUSE, NOV 18 @ 4pm

We will host an Open House at 4 pm on Sunday, November 18, to show our church community the newly upgraded Anderson Wing and to invite the community in so they can see our space (which is now available for users of all kinds.)  Refreshments will be served and childcare will be provided.
