@ Brookside . . . Week of September 29

ALL SAINTS DAY CELEBRATION
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD

Pastor Nicolette’s first worship with us will be Sunday, November 3rd. It is traditional to honor All Saints Day on this first Sunday of November. In the Protestant tradition, a saint is not a perfect or especially holy person, but simply a loved one who has passed away and who we continue to hold in our hearts.

During the service, we will lift the names of those we have loved and lost during our celebration of Communion. Then, during refreshments following the service, we will play a slideshow featuring the names and photos of beloved ones who have passed. For this first time, we will gladly honor those who have died at any time. Next year, we will try to specifically honor those who died after 11/1/2019.

If you have a person you would like to include in the memorial slideshow, please submit their name, picture, birth date, and date of passing to the church office by Monday, October 28th. If it is possible, doing so electronically is best, however we will also take submissions on paper.

INTEGRATED SPIRITUALITY
PRACTICES FOR THE MIND, BODY, & SPIRIT

WEDNESDAYS @ 6:30PM IN SCIALLA HALL

Come and join us on Wednesday evenings as we explore spiritual practices that can help center us and enrich our Christian faith. As people who strive for justice and seek to live a faith that is active, these spiritual practices can help us be more balanced in the health and well-being of our body, mind, and spirit.

10.9 Kriya Yoga to Reconnect to Yourself with Christin Scarcello-Miller

The energy of our recurring thoughts, emotions and life experiences remain held in our bodies, which over time can condition and limit us. It can leave us feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, stuck, uninspired or simply like we are going through the motions of life. Kriyas (kree-ya) are cleansing techniques used to purify the mind and body of this patterning. It uses visualization, pranayama (breathing), mantra and meditation to unblock the energy meridians (nadis) of the body. It detoxifies the pathways of our consciousness, opening us to deeper meditation, joyous living, divine inspiration and endless possibilities.
