@ Brookside . . . Week of May 19

AN UPDATE ON THE MANSE KITCHEN PROJECT

More gifts for the manse kitchen have come in this week, and that means we’re close to reaching our goal! In all, 26 members have contributed. If we collect another $4,000, the matching grant, $7,500, will be ours, and our total will be $25,800. Our ultimate goal is $30,000 to make sure we can complete the kitchen renovation without worries and be covered for any surprises that might arise (none so far). I hope we can perhaps exceed our $30,000 goal so that we can make necessary repairs to the rest of the house.

Our church community has been so generous. Let’s make sure we all participate toward our common goal — to maintain the property of a church that has meant so much to its members over the years and to attract the very best talent for our next leader.

The trustees would like to extend a big thank you to all who have given!

"Generosity brings happiness at every stage of its expression. We experience joy in forming the intention to be generous. We experience joy in the actual act of giving something. And we experience joy in remembering the fact that we have given.”
— Buddha

Let’s all experience the happiness that comes from being generous.

All the best,

The Trustees and the Search Committee!

CHILDREN'S SUNDAY

JUNE 9

This will be a child-led worship service based around what we've learned in Sunday School this year. Come hear from the kids about why it's so important to live by the teachings of the Bible and how it affects us each and every day. Afterwards, join us for a potluck brunch in Scialla Hall and fun activities for all ages. And don't forget to stop by the Ice Cream Man before you leave!

PATRIOT’S RACE

SATURDAY, JUNE 15

Brookside Church is once again a sponsor of the Patriot's Day 5K Run through Mendham Township on Saturday, June 15. We will be handing out water at the halfway point, and then hosting a pancake breakfast after the race in Scialla Hall.  We need volunteers!  See Community Outreach Committee members Chris Terhune or Matt Messina, and be looking for the Sign Up Genius coming soon!
