HIKE WITH BCC!

Mark Texel has been kind enough to lead another pop- up BCC group hike.  It is planned for Saturday morning, May 18, 2024, which is also "National Kids to Parks Day"!!

The Hike will be at Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area and features an approx. 3-mile loop, including the famous tripod rock and a portion of the glacial erratic trail.  About 2 hours round trip. A family friendly hike with some moderately steep sections.  Folks should arrive at the park's Boonton Avenue Visitors Center  (472 Boonton Avenue Montville Township, NJ 07045) around 8:45 am so we can be on the trail around 9. This is a very popular hiking area so the earlier start the better to avoid the crowds and have parking.  Après-hike lunch and beverages for those who are available at the Reservoir Tavern in Boonton ( 92 Parsippany Blvd, Boonton, NJ 07005).

Please let Pat Behnke know by text (973.580.4659) or email (PLBehnke@gmail.com) if you are attending. This gives us the ability to contact you if weather or other events require notifications to you.

Help Make Mendham Rock!

Did you know Mendham was officially incorporated in 1749? Think about it, neighbors growing together and supporting each other for 275 years. That rocks! As part of the year’s celebration, Mendham Arts Council member Ginny Pados Beutnagel invites you to join her in painting rocks with positive sayings, designs, or funny messages to share or keep. The goal for this towns-wide project is to create 275 stones by the 4th of July!

Adults are invited to join Ginny on Thursday, May 23rd at the Mendham Township Library at 7pm. Let’s add some music and snacks and a donation box to help boost the Mendham Township Library!

Keep the painted rocks or leave them at the “Take a rock, Leave a rock” basket located at the Borough gazebo. We want everyone to have a hand in celebrating being a community. Tag creations with: #mendhamrockart.
