Our Vision

Brookside Community Church strives to be a progressive, inclusive community of seekers serving others while challenging ourselves to understand and practice the teachings of Jesus.

Brookside Church’s Vision Focused Goals Our Vision:

We want to be a progressive, inclusive community of seekers serving others while challenging ourselves to understand and practice the teachings of Jesus.

1. Increase Performance Through Critical Assessment: We want to challenge ourselves to achieve a higher level of individual and collective performance by critically assessing and evaluating our current programs and structures.

2. Promote Excellence Through Increased Collaboration: We want to provide progressive services, events, and programing of exceptional quality by promoting excellence and increasing collaboration among committees.

3. Deepen and Diversify Our Leadership: We want to deepen and improve our decision making and leadership so that it includes the diversity in our congregation and surrounding community.

4. Widen Our Participation by Creating an Intergenerational Culture of Service: We want to expand our definition of participation in a way that creates and encourages a year-round culture of service for our youth and adults. We want to do this by partnering with other churches and community organizations, by developing engaging programming so that every member becomes an enthusiastic participant, where our leaders feel supported, our goals are achieved, and our resources are not exhausted.

1. Community Partnerships

2. 100% Participation

3. Supported Leadership

4. Faithful Use of Resources

5. Expand our Comfort Zone: We want to inspire and reward the expansion of our individual and collective comfort zone. 6. Educate Ourselves about Jesus and Society: As a progressive community, we want to continually educate ourselves about the relationship between Jesus and society.

7. Have Intercultural, Intergenerational Experiences and Programming: We want to have more intercultural experiences that involve both our youth and adults in more culturally diverse programming.

8. Provide Intergenerational Acts of Service to Others: We want to clearly identify and respond to the needs of the people within Brookside, our wider community, and the world through acts of service that develops the leadership of our youth and adults. We want to do this by performing a needs assessment for our local community and larger county, strategically choosing “targets of opportunity” to engage with. We also want to widen our congregation’s mission outreach to engage more on a global scale.

9. Tell the World About Us: We want everyone in our surrounding community to know about Brookside Community Church, who we are and what we stand for.
